What are the types of decorative paper

Some common decorative papers

1. Coated paper:

Characteristics: Smooth surface, high whiteness, uniform distribution of paper fibers, consistent thickness, low elasticity, good elasticity, strong water resistance and tensile strength, and very good ink absorption and acceptance. Coated paper is available in single-sided and double-sided types.
  2. Main uses: Mainly used for printing albums, covers, postcards, exquisite product samples, and color trademarks.

Decorative paper can be classified into many types according to its quantitative and purpose.

1. Li paper – thin paper:wood grain printed on the paper surface, used for MDF, HDF, plywood veneer, adhesive is required for veneer, and coating is required after veneer.

2. Huali paper – thin paper, the paper surface has been printed and coated, used for MDF, HDF, plywood veneer, adhesive is required for veneer, generally no coating is required after veneer, used in places where wear resistance is not required.

3. Pre-painted paper – decorative paper (titanium dioxide paper),wood grain printed on the paper surface, has been soaked or coated with a small amount of resin, the resin content is 20% to 60%, low quantitative paper is used for MDF veneer, high quantitative paper is used for edge banding, adhesive is required for veneer, generally no coating is required after veneer, wear resistance is higher than Huali paper.

4. Low-pressure melamine impregnated paper – decorative paper (titanium dioxide paper), with wood grain printed on the paper surface, impregnated with low-pressure melamine resin, with a resin content of 130% to 150%, used for particleboard and MDF veneer, no glue is required during veneer, and no finishing is performed after veneer. The wear resistance is higher than that of pre-painted paper. The resin content of 70% to 100% is used for laminate flooring, and the wear resistance depends on the surface paper.

5. High-pressure melamine impregnated paper – decorative paper (titanium dioxide paper), with wood grain printed on the paper surface, impregnated with high-pressure melamine resin, with a resin content of 60% to 100%, used to make decorative laminates (fireproof boards), and the wear resistance depends on the surface paper.
